MEAG is keenly focused on maintaining the sustainable and profitable growth of all our customers' investments; it is a clientele that includes Munich Re, ERGO and also institutional and private customers from outside the Group. By keeping the future at the forefront of our considerations, and always taking sustainability into account, we strive to exceed our clients' ambitious goals, while at the same time making a positive contribution to a sustainable future for society. We are signatories of the Principles for Responsible Investment, which serve as a framework and orientation for our ESG Strategy.

Acting as a trustee for our customers, we invest their capital in line with strict asset-reliability and earnings requirements. To ensure we identify all risks and opportunities involved in our investment decisions, we also take ESG criteria into account.

We have three main objectives when including ESG considerations in our investment analysis and decision-making processes: taking into account the investments' adverse environmental and social impacts; managing the financial risks and opportunities that arise in connection with ESG; and supporting the sustainability goals of MEAG and its customers.

In order to promote our investors' ESG interests during the investment phase, MEAG utilises active stewardship to leverage our influence as an asset manager. This stewardship encompasses talking with the companies we hold stakes in (engagement) and casting shareholder votes that accord with our investors' interests (proxy voting).
