As a company, we are committed to doing business sustainably by combining ecological and social responsibility with financial profitability. This encompasses making efficient use of resources, respecting human rights, providing fair working conditions, promoting diversity and equality and supporting social projects and local communities.
Supply chains and procurement principles
Munich Re's procurement principles describe the guidelines that apply to our dealings with external service providers. When adopting the procurement principles, Munich Re integrated the United Nations principles set out in the Global Compact and committed itself to upholding them throughout the Group. Accordingly, Munich Re's business activities and strategies are guided by ten universally recognised principles in the fields of human rights, labour standards, environmental protection and anti-corruption. Munich Re's procurement principles also apply to MEAG.
Code of Conduct for Suppliers
The Code of Conduct for Suppliers is designed to ensure that all external suppliers who provide goods or services to a Munich Re Group company comply with our standards regarding environmental protection, fair and respectful treatment of employees, safe working conditions, zero tolerance for corruption and ethical business behaviour. All suppliers and service providers of Group companies must observe the principles when submitting tenders and concluding contracts.
